Three sisters, one workbench
Hattie, June & Wren began at a scarred oak workbench in Providence, Rhode Island, where our mother opened her workshop in 1979. The three of us grew up underneath that bench, then beside it, and eventually at it.
She taught us the slow parts first. How to file an edge until it no longer catches on a sweater. How to check a clasp by feel. How to tell when a stone is sitting right and when it only looks like it is.
And she taught us one rule we still say out loud at the bench: jewelry is made to be worn. Not kept in a drawer, not saved for a special occasion. Worn.

Forty years under other people's names
Providence has been a jewelry town for generations, and for most of our working lives we were one of its quiet workshops. We made pieces for department stores and boutiques across the country, and they went out with someone else's name on the tag.
We never minded. The work was steady, the bench was busy, and somewhere a woman was wearing something we had made. That was enough for Mom, and for a long time it was enough for us too.
The order that changed everything
This September, three weeks before delivery, the department store we had made holiday jewelry for since 2014 cancelled the entire order. A new buyer, a new plan, a cheaper supplier overseas.
By then every piece was finished. 1,400 rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets, made over five months by the three of us and the small team that works with us. Polished, carded, tagged and packed in boxes stacked to the ceiling of our workshop.
We could have sold it all to a liquidator, or melted the metal down and started again. Mom would never have allowed it. So for the first time, we are offering our work directly to you, under our own name, at the price the store would have paid us.

Who does what
Hattie handles the stones and settings. She has the steadiest hands of the three of us and the least patience for a setting that is almost right.
June runs the bench, the way Mom did for thirty years. If a piece leaves the workshop, June has turned it over in her fingers first.
Wren handles the orders, the packing and, these days, this website. She is also the one who reads it when you write to us.
Checked by hand, every time
Every piece in this sale was made to the standard a department store buyer expects, and then checked again by one of us before it was packed. If something is not right, it does not go out. That was true when our name was not on the box, and it matters even more now that it is.
Wrapped and ready to give
Every order arrives in our signature box with a soft pouch and a card, so it is ready to give the moment it arrives. If it is a gift, leave a note at checkout and Wren will write your message by hand.
When the last box is gone
This is a one-time sale. When the last box from the cancelled order is gone, these designs are gone too. We will not restock them, and we will not bring these prices back.
We still wear our own jewelry, still ask for each other's opinion and still believe the smallest details matter most. Thank you for giving these pieces a home. Mom would say that is where they belonged all along.
